Brave Nature Collab is a learning commons in New Haven, where kids, families and neighbors learn together in parks, libraries and other shared places around the city. Together, we grow, harvest, make and play, learning from the land, our oldest ancestor.

We want every child to know the land, and through it, themselves. We know access has never been equal, so we’re reclaiming it together: we are nature.

WE ARE NATURE, LEARNING TOGETHER

A SPACE
FOR

In our circles and at our gatherings, kids are trusted to be curious and fully themselves, and they bring their families’ languages, stories and traditions with them!

Adults listen more than they lead, and we work through conflict with each other and care for our communities.

We have circles for kids, and circles for adults doing their own unlearning. We practice sharing power with kids, not over them.

Let's plant seeds and watch community grow.

"One of the most valuable things this program gave us was the confidence to become 'all-weather' parents, willing to get outside with our little one rain or shine."

DAMOLA
Nests caregiver

"I love to be outside and climb the trees. If I could go to nature camp every day I would go...We get to do fun things and no one tells me what to do!"

MARI,
summer camp kid

"[His] curiosity, confidence, independence, and comfort in exploring the world grew over time...[we praise] the community that Brave Nature created.

Sibali & Sitakanta
Nests CAREGIVERS

"The fierce commitment to a child-led space is particularly invaluable... At Brave Nature, she's experienced true freedom to participate in whatever way feels right to her, without expectations that an 18-month-old will sit still for circle time."
